Tango Cherry Raspberry Blast Returns for Limited Time in the UK

Tango has long been a household name in Britain, known for its bold flavours and vibrant branding. In 2025, the return of two iconic limited-edition drinks—Tango Cherry Blast and Tango Raspberry Blast—has set off a wave of excitement among soft drink fans nationwide. These flavours, inspired by the popular Tango Ice Blast slushies found in cinemas, are back by popular demand for a limited six-month run, sparking nostalgia and anticipation from shoppers of all ages.

    The Story Behind the Comeback

The decision to bring back Tango Cherry Blast and Raspberry Blast was driven by overwhelming consumer demand. After their debut in April 2024, these drinks quickly became top sellers, flying off shelves and earning rave reviews. Their success was so pronounced that they secured first and second place for fruit-flavoured carbonate product launches in the UK last year, according to Nielsen data. This popularity contributed to nearly half of Tango’s overall growth during 2024, cementing their status as fan favourites.

Victoria Burridge, Tango Brand Manager at Carlsberg Britvic, highlighted the passion of the brand’s loyal following: “We’ve heard our fans’ cries and are thrilled to bring back Tango Cherry Blast and Raspberry Blast after they flew off the shelves when first launched last year. Guaranteed to deliver that iconic hit of fruity Tang, they’re returning as a limited time drop so fans will need to hurry!”

Where and When to Find the Limited Editions

From April 2025, both Cherry Blast and Raspberry Blast are available across the UK in 500ml bottles, with a recommended retail price of £2.15. For those looking to stock up, new two-litre bottles have also hit the shelves at major discounters such as Iceland, Home Bargains, and B&M, retailing at £3.35. The drinks are being rolled out in local convenience stores including Nisa, Spar, and Co-op, making them accessible to shoppers up and down the country.

This six-month window is strictly limited, with the brand making it clear that once supplies run out, there are no guarantees of another return. The move is designed to create a sense of urgency and excitement, encouraging fans to act quickly and enjoy the flavours while they last.

The Impact on the Soft Drinks Market

The reintroduction of these flavours comes at a time when Tango’s overall retail sales value has reached £113 million, reflecting a 7.6% increase in the past year. The Blast range has been a significant driver of this growth, especially among younger consumers seeking bold, innovative soft drinks. Gen Z shoppers, in particular, have embraced the ready-to-drink format for its convenience and vibrant taste profiles.

Industry experts point out that the success of Tango Blast is part of a wider trend towards limited-edition and nostalgia-driven products in the beverage sector. In-store activations, social media campaigns, and eye-catching packaging have all played a role in amplifying the buzz around the launch. The drinks’ vegan-friendly credentials and absence of artificial flavours or colours also align with evolving consumer preferences for healthier and more inclusive options.

    Expert Insights and Consumer Reactions

Retailers and analysts have praised the strategic timing and marketing of the Tango Blast return. The expansion into larger bottle formats is seen as a smart move, catering to “big night in” occasions and encouraging group sharing. Shopper research conducted by Britvic and the Association of Convenience Stores found that 57% of soft drink buyers visit their local shop specifically for on-the-go drinks, underlining the importance of convenience in driving sales.

Feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing delight at the chance to relive childhood memories and enjoy their favourite slushie-inspired flavours in a portable format. Social media has been abuzz with posts and photos of the new bottles, further fuelling demand and anticipation.

    Carlsberg Britvic’s Soft Drinks Strategy

The return of Tango Cherry Blast and Raspberry Blast follows the formation of Carlsberg Britvic, a merger that has strengthened the company’s position in the UK drinks market. The combined business now manages a broad portfolio of well-known brands, including Robinsons, J2O, and Fruit Shoot, as well as exclusive rights to produce and distribute PepsiCo favourites like Pepsi MAX and 7UP.

Carlsberg Britvic’s investment in innovation and production capacity has enabled these limited-edition launches to reach a wide audience. The company operates six production facilities and 16 depots across the UK, ensuring efficient distribution and availability for retailers and consumers alike.

    Will Tango Blast Return Again?

While the current run is limited to six months, the overwhelming response suggests that future returns are possible if demand remains strong. The brand’s willingness to listen to its fans and adapt to market trends has been key to its recent success. For now, though, shoppers are urged to seize the moment and enjoy these iconic flavours before they disappear from shelves once more.
